How to print from a Samsung phone
Updated October 30, 2026
Samsung Galaxy phones run Android, so they use Android’s built-in printing. You can print photos, PDFs and web pages from a Samsung phone to a Wi-Fi printer without a cable or a computer.
Before you start
- Turn the printer on and connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
- On the phone, open Settings, search for Printing, and open Default Print Service or Print service. Make sure it is on. Menu names can differ a little between One UI versions.
Print with PrintHop
- Open PrintHop and choose what to print: Photos, PDF file, Web page, Text or Clipboard.
- Check the preview and adjust the paper size.
- Tap Print. On the Android print screen choose your printer from the list at the top.
- Tap the print button.
Print a file from another Samsung app
In My Files, Gallery or an email app, open the share menu and choose PrintHop. The PDF or photo opens in the preview.
If the printer does not appear
Check that the phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer, restart the printer, and install the maker’s print plugin or Mopria Print Service from Google Play if the printer is older. More steps: Printer not found on Android.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print from my Samsung phone?
Connect the phone and printer to the same Wi-Fi, open PrintHop, choose a photo, PDF or web page, tap Print and select your printer.
Does Samsung Galaxy have built-in printing?
Yes. Android includes a print service, and Samsung phones use it. An app such as PrintHop gives you one place to print different file types with a preview.
Can I print from a Samsung phone without Wi-Fi?
Printers that support Wi-Fi Direct let you connect the phone to the printer’s own network. Printers that only use USB or Bluetooth are not supported by Android’s standard print screen.
